We had a really amazing day in the snow! We ventured out twice today. It was quite the ordeal for me to find all of the clothes first of all. :) Luckily, Jason and I have a "ski bag" full of long johns, scarves, neck warmers, boots, gloves and hats. Austin is wearing our favorite ski hat of Jason's...it looks great skiing down a mountain! Since the windchill was around 8 degrees, the kids had leggings and scotch-guarded jeans, 2 shirts, a coat, scarves, hats, rain boots, and gloves. Unfortunately the gloves were just knit...we tried wrapping them in saran wrap, but it didn't last too long.
We headed out into the yard and played around for a few minutes. Then we grabbed our storage box lid and headed out the gate to the big hills behind our house. We had a good time forging our own path and the kids thought it was great. After being couped up in the house since Monday night...it was even more perfect than I could imagine!
We came in and had lunch and rest time...then headed back out. Some of the same people were back at the hill with disks to sled on. They were awesome! We took several trips down the hill on those. I started out riding with the kids...but Austin & Jasmine both wanted a turn on their own...and they did great!
Making snowballs!
