A good reminder today that there is more to life than just here and now. "When we begin to realize that life is just preparation for eternity, we will begin to live differently. Suddenly many activities, goals, and even problems that seem so important will appear trivial, petty, and unworthy of our attention. The closer we live to God, the smaller everything else appears." I thought the comparison that this book made was really great. Our time here on earth compared to eternity is like the time we spend inside the womb when preparing for life outside the womb. Necessary...absolutely. Every minute inside the womb prepares our bodies for our life here on earth. We ought to be thinking eternally as we live our daily life. We are absolutely here to live life to the fullest and enjoy every minute...but with the greater picture that this life is meant to prepare us for our eternal life with God in heaven.
